3 Ways To Start Your Day Off Feeling Great

It's no secret that some days you just don't feel like doing anything. You wake up and it's snowy outside, you have a million things to do and you'd rather just stay in bed. Believe me, I've been there. While there may be days where you end up giving in to the lazier side of yourself, that's not always an option. So for the days you need to get yourself going, why not help yourself feel great? It's so easy to fall into a rut of pulling yourself out of bed and coasting through the day. I say it's important to find ways to feel sparkly even on the gloomiest of days. Here are three super simple ways to get that pep back in your step!

1. Make your bed. Making your bed might not seem like such a big deal, but it can make quite a difference in the way you feel at the beginning of your day. Taking a few extra minutes to turn down your sheets and make them look nice and neat will give you a feeling of satisfaction and will help you feel more prepared to face the day.

2. Put on something special. Even on the days that you are working from home, or when you are feeling under the weather put at least one thing on that feels special. It could be as simple as a ring or a pair of earrings or a dress that you love. Whatever it is, adding that little sparkle to your outfit will give you a boost! I find that on the days I am particularly unmotivated (especially in the NYC winter) if I get myself to wear eyeliner or a sparkly necklace I feel 10x better than I did before. Feeling beautiful will always make your day a little bit more pleasant.

3. Plate your breakfast with care. We could get into what you could eat for breakfast to feel great, but right now I will tell you how you should eat your breakfast. Take a few extra minutes to place your food on to your plate in a thoughtful way. Place it in a way that looks appealing to you. Imagine that you are going to instagram your plate (maybe you even will), and set it up for the perfect photo. Doing this will make your breakfast experience feel special and luxurious. Now you can enjoy your breakfast instead of treating it as a chore.
