We have all fallen pray to the trap of "When...Then I will...". Maybe it's when I have more money I will buy better groceries, or when I have more time then I will start cooking for myself, or when I start dating then I will start working on myself. The possibilities are endless of the "When.. Then I will..." scenarios. It is so easy to put yourself in this position; but it is time to stop waiting and to start doing! If you can think of a scenario in your life where you are creating this reality, don't worry it does not make you a bad person, but it is completely within your power to change it right now!
If you have been putting off eating healthier and treating your body better for a while now, today is the day all of that changes. It is easy to feel stuck when you are focusing on how far away from the "end point" (although there is no end point, there is always further to go). This is why it is so important to be focused on the step you are taking in this moment, while holding the goal in your vision. Instead of feeling miles away from where you want to be- focus on where you are now!
So what is something you have been putting off for a while now? Is it getting yourself to the gym? Making your lunch at home? Giving up refined sugar? It is likely that you have been "thinking" about this goal for a very long time. Every time you think about it, you probably find yourself feeling overwhelmed by all of the millions of changes that will have to take place in your life in order for this to actually happen. And before you have even try taking a step in the direction you want to go in, you find yourself shut down because all of the sudden it seems impossible again. Sound familiar? "If I quit sugar, how will I celebrate my boyfriends birthday? What about Christmas? What if I want to eat candy at the movies? What if I change my mind?" The magical answer is much simpler than you might think... Just start now. If you want to quit eating refined sugar, stop right now, even if you just finished eating a brownie. Stop in this moment. Every time you think about the future and create scenarios in your head that will make it impossible for you to stick to your goal, stop! Stop thinking about it. Simply stay with the moment you are in, and don't eat sugar right NOW. When you wake up tomorrow, do the same thing again. Stay present and take it moment by moment. If you let your mind get ahead of you, you will convince yourself that it is impossible and you should quit. But you will be surprised how far you can go when you don't let yourself jump into the future.
The moment to take action is now! Stay present and take it one moment at a time.
