Blue Velvet Smoothie

This smoothie saved my day! I was feeling tired and having a hard time getting work done this afternoon so I went to the kitchen to whip up this beauty. It's packed with phytonutrients from the fruit, antioxidants, and a tiny bit of caffein to give me that little extra push! The smoothie turned out to be a beautiful blue color and very velvety. I highly recommend this for an afternoon pick me up or even for dessert in place of ice cream or any other treat with refined sugar.

Blue Velvet Smoothie

1 frozen ripe banana

1 cup frozen blueberries

3-4 frozen strawberries

1/2 pitted date

1 Tbsp raw almond butter

1 tsp cacao powder (trace amounts of caffein)

1  cup of almond milk (add more milk for a lighter texture)

Blend, top with some kiwi, and enjoy!
